Note: We no longer sell kits, because our parts are universal (meaning that the parts that make one model also make most other models), so once you have parts, the instructions  are free right here

UberStix History

"I was traveling with my eight year old son (my one year old was at home with his mom) and on the way to the hotel we stopped so he could buy a block construction toy hang-glider with his allowance. It came with one of its popular characters and he couldn't wait to build it.   When he opened the box, and realized, that It wasn't meant to fly,  he was disappointed.

I saw this as an opportunity to teach him about problem-solving, and so we went on a scavenger hunt and 20 minutes later with some paper, tape, and a small straw,  we had built a working hang-glider for the cool character. He played with it for hours, flying it off the second floor balcony.

That was the spark that became Uberstix... that boats would float and sail, planes would fly and buildings would be structural.

The secondary design motivation was accessibility. I wanted Uberstix to be affordable to as many of the worlds kids as possible.

The solution: Design Uberstix to integrate with up-cycled  materials, like straws, Popsicle sticks, water bottles, paper cups, etc.

Update: Both my boys grew up playing with Uberstix, helping me test new designs, and now, all these years later, both my boys have grown up to be amazing, successful young men, with creative minds, and good hearts.
